Precautions for the use of MF47 multimeter
When entering the laboratory, you must follow the safety rules and regulations of the laboratory to operate. Although the multimeter has a double protection device, in order to avoid accidents and burn the meter, you must operate according to the following requirements.
(1) When measuring high voltage or large current, in order to avoid burnout of the switch, the range should be changed when the power supply is cut off.
(2) When measuring an unknown amount of voltage or current, the highest number should be selected first, and after the first reading of the value, it can be gradually turned to the appropriate position to obtain a more accurate reading and avoid burning out the circuit.
(3) When the fuse is blown due to overload, the meter box cover can be opened and replaced with the same type of fuse (0.5A/250 V) before it can be used.
(4) When measuring high voltage, stand on a dry insulating board and operate with only one hand to prevent accidents.
(5) The dry batteries used in each block of the resistance need to be checked and replaced regularly to ensure the measurement accuracy. If you don’t use the multimeter in normal times, you should set the gear dial to AC 1000 V; if you don’t use it for a long time, you should take out the battery to prevent the electrolyte from overflowing and corroding and damaging other parts.
(6) During each measurement, mechanical zero adjustment must be performed, otherwise the measurement result will be inaccurate, and ohmic zero adjustment must be performed every time the gear is changed when measuring resistance.
(7) When using a multimeter, the multimeter should be placed horizontally on the table, and the line of sight of the eyes should be perpendicular to the pointer when reading to prevent errors in the reading.
