SMT Placement Machine Dual-rail Stacker Tube Feeder is a pick-and-place peripheral feeding module used for stacked, dual-channel delivery of tube-packaged ICs to placement or insertion machines. Also referred to as a dual-rail stacker IC tube feeder, each rail holds multiple stacked tubes for extended unattended runtime, eliminating frequent single-tube-change downtime on high-volume SMT lines.

Working Principle
IC tubes are gravity-loaded into a multi-tube stack on each of two independent rails of this SMT tube feeder. A stepping motor drives a push rod — advancing the lead component along the tube channel to the pick window at 0.8 sec/pcs. Fiber optic sensors detect component position in real-time; software compensation adjusts the push stroke for ±0.5mm accuracy. Compressed air (0.4-0.6 MPa) assists delivery and breaks static friction. When the active tube empties, the stack gravity-releases the next tube — resuming dispensing without operator intervention. Once the last tube in a rail’s stack is consumed, the ARM-based microcontroller auto-switches to the standby rail. Singulated ICs arrive at the pick position, synchronized to the insertion machine cycle rate.
