It feeds radial lead components from punched carrier tape, presents them at a fixed pick-up position, and integrates lead forming and lead bending so components arrive at the placement head ready for insertion.
On THT insertion lines, this JUKI radial feeder runs at 0.3 s per piece (12,000 CPH) and handles electrolytic capacitors, radial LEDs, magnetic coils, and radial diodes from 12.7 mm or 15 mm carrier tape with lead spans from 5 mm to 15 mm.
On SMT pick-and-place lines, the same feeder solves a common problem: your board needs 1–2 through-hole components (a radial capacitor or LED) but buying a dedicated THT insertion machine is not economical. The JUKI Radial Feeder for THT Inserter mounts in the odd-form feeder slot of your JUKI RS, KE, or FX series pick-and-place machine. It forms the leads to the correct span, and the placement head inserts the component before reflow or wave soldering. One feeder replaces a full THT machine for low-volume mixed assemblies.
