SMT Tube Feeder for JUKI Pick and Place — 20 Tubes, Custom Functions
The SMT Tube Feeder for JUKI Pick and Place is a custom tube feeder that mounts on JUKI pick-and-place machines and holds 20 tubes in a single magazine. It feeds SOIC, SSOP, QFP, and connector components from plastic or aluminum tubes at 3,000 to 8,000 CPH. Custom functions including lead forming, cut-and-clinch, and tube cutting are available on request.Standard machine-mounted tube feeders hold one tube — typically 30 to 50 components. At 4,000 CPH, a tube empties in under a minute. Operators spend more time reloading than the machine spends placing. This feeder replaces the single-tube design with a 20-tube magazine (a component tube storage rack that holds up to 20 plastic or aluminum tubes). One load covers 600 to 1,000 components. Reload frequency drops from every few minutes to once per shift.
Tube-packed THT components such as TO-92 transistors, radial diodes, and axial parts often need lead forming before insertion and cut-and-clinch after. These steps add machines, floor space, and handling damage risk. This feeder integrates both functions into one station: components exit the tube, get formed to the correct span and angle, and arrive at the placement head ready for insertion. One station replaces three.
On a high-mix board with six tube-packed ICs, six standard feeders consume six feeder slots that could otherwise hold high-volume tape-reel passives. One 20-tube magazine feeds up to 20 different tube-packed components from a single feeder position, freeing the remaining slots for tape feeders that drive line throughput.
Every tube reload demands the operator open the gate, remove the empty tube, insert a new tube, and verify the first component position. This feeder auto-detects empty tubes and advances to the next loaded tube without operator intervention. Changeover time drops to near zero.

Custom Functions — What You Can Add
| Function | What It Does | When You Need It |
| Lead forming | Bends tube-packed THT component leads to match PCB hole span and angle | Your THT components arrive with straight leads; you currently use a separate forming machine |
| Cut-and-clinch | Trims excess lead length and clinches leads after insertion | You run THT insertion on your JUKI line and want to merge forming and clinching into one feeder station |
| Tube cutting | Cuts over-length tubes to standard magazine size at the feeder | Your supplier ships tubes in non-standard lengths that do not fit the magazine |
| Custom pick-up height | Adjusts component presentation height to match your JUKI nozzle configuration | Your placement head or nozzle setup requires a non-standard pick-up plane |
| Dual-track magazine | Splits the 20-tube capacity into two independent 10-tube tracks | You want to feed two component families from one feeder with separate indexing control |
What You Need to Provide for a Custom Order
| Item | Why We Need It |
| JUKI machine model and revision | Ensures exact mechanical and electrical interface match |
| Component samples (2–3 pieces) | We measure body size, lead span, and lead diameter to design the track and forming die |
| Tube dimensions (inner width × height × length) | Determines magazine slot geometry and tube advance mechanism |
| PCB hole spacing or target lead span (if adding forming) | We set the forming die to your exact board specification |
| Required custom functions | Lead forming, cut-and-clinch, tube cutting, or other — quoted per function |
What We Do for Your SMT Production Line?
You only need to provide component samples and machine model numbers. Based on your exact part dimensions, our engineers design custom feeder adapters and CNC-machine each rail from scratch. We strictly avoid off-the-shelf parts or generic sizes to ensure optimal orientation. Before leaving our Shenzhen factory, every unit undergoes a full operational test on a matching machine, and we provide a performance video so you can verify its functionality prior to delivery.
We provide dedicated rail adapters for all major SMT brands, including ASM SIPLACE, YAMAHA, FUJI, Panasonic, JUKI, and Samsung.
Tag and Tube Feeders: 4–7 weeks.
MOQ: 1 unit. We support single-unit testing on your production line before scaling to mass production.
We fabricate custom nozzles from ceramics, tungsten carbide, and rubber, precision-formed to match your specific part geometry while maintaining a feed failure rate below 0.5%. To streamline your procurement, feeders and nozzles are shipped together in a single package.
